OUCH!

If teething hurts, then teething times 4 must really hurt!!! That's right. Vince is getting 4 teeth in right now...actually I think that 3 have cut through finally and there's another one that keeps sneaking back up into his gums. There may or may not be one more coming in on the bottom, but it's really hard to see because every time I try to open his mouth he sticks his tongue out!!
The teething has made him a little fussier than usual, but I'll give him a pass. I'll post a photo of his new teeth soon.

Momma's gettin' crafty

Thanks to some very helpful suggestions from other mommas who paved the road, I have figured out how to get Vince to eat the veggies he doesn't like. . . and it's so fun for me because I know I'm tricking him!!! (Pretty soon I'll be busting out my mom's old faithful line: "No, really sweetheart you should try it. You know you're getting older now and that means your tastebuds have probably changed since you're growing up!" That woman tricked me every time with that line~!!~)

Anyway, In the beginning...vince hated the green veggies and loved the orange ones. Most of us know what happens when babies eat only the orange stuff: their skin turns orange. Unfortunately for the Momma, the baby doesn't care what hue his skin becomes because, well...he's got more important fish to fry. So in order to offset the RGB scale in my child's pigment, I started mixing his green veggies with his orange ones. It worked for about one mouthful, but he still pretended to gag on the mixture. So for several days - and with quite a bit of pride, I might add - I put fruit from one dish on the same spoon with mixed veggies from another dish. BINGO! He loved it. Every few bites or so I'd give him a bite of just veggies just to laugh at his gagging reaction (that's probably really unhealthy or he could probably suffer from some sort of emotional trauma because of it, but I assure you, it really was comical and quite worth it). The problem is that this whole two-dishes-and-one-spoonful thing is rather time consuming. Sooo...I came up with an even better solution: I dumped it all together!!! So now he's eating two veggies and a fruit all at once and he gobbled it right up!!! HA!!!

Here's a photo at a recent dinner time. Fatigue was setting in; can ya tell?
